Each month I set hair goals that I want to accomplish but I normally don’t post them on the blog. I have decided that it’s time to start posting my goals here instead of leaving them in my journal. I hope that put my hair goals up on the blog will make me more accountable and help others. Making goals is the key to keeping me focused and on the right track with my hair journey. By writing out my goals, it forces me to be more consistent and to think about what my hair needs, what I want to accomplish, and the best steps to meet my goals. My May hair goals should get me a step closer to my ultimate length goal.
I am participating in Ebony from Longing 4 Length’s Bangin & Swangin Challenge that lasts until Aug 31st. By then I hope Cherrelle (my hair) is at full waist length. Joining challenges is another tool to keeping me consistent and focused. It is a form of accountability and encouragement. When I feel like slacking off, I have a group of people that are working towards the same goals and working on the same challenge. Sometimes working with others and knowing you are not alone in any struggles you have on your hair journey. It is nice to have a sounding board when you are working through an issue or debating the next move.
My goals for the month of May are fairly simple, but I find it easy to sometimes fall off with one of the simple tasks. My biggest challenge for the month is making sure I keep up with my water intake goal. I can only have a maximum of 3L due to my kidney issues, but sometimes I find it hard to even make that goal. So wish me luck!!!
May Hair Goals:
1. Scalp massages at least 5 days per week
2. Drink 3 liters of water per day
3. Take supplements and vitamins daily
4. Apply growth aides (GA) at least 3 xs per week
5. CO wash 3 xs per week (after running)
6. Wig it (at school or going out but daily wear two braids)
7. Baggy 5xs per week
8. Moisturize & Seal (M & S) daily
Who else is participating in the challenge? Have you set any beauty or hair goals for the month?
