Who said a healthy hair journey was easy? Not me! Like life, a hair journey is filled with ups and downs and how you deal with the challenges determines the overall health of your hair. During my journey, I have experienced times of illness and I had to figure out the best method of taking care of my hair during those periods.
During times when I am unable to complete my full wash day regimen, I simply water rinse my hair and scalp. I love just sticking my head under the shower and working the water through my hair. I’m weird, I know! LOL! It’s better than nothing and the simplest step I can do in taking care of my hair while I’m ill.
Recently, I was unable to care for my hair as I normally would, and the last time I did my normal pre-poo, poo, and deep condition I experienced some breakage. So, I decided to use Wen as my main product for the month and I’ve used (affiliate link) Miconazole Nitrate (MN) straight out of the tube for the last week or two.
Note: Using MN directly from the container may cause headaches. I never experienced this issue and I do like the growth results I’ve received using MN this way.<
Taking Care Of My Hair During The Summer:
I wanted to share a couple of pictures with you of me being bored and scrunching one section of my hair. Normally, I scrunch during the summer because it is the easiest way to style my hair when I’m running and co-washing multiple times during the week. I’m determined to get off a few pounds I gained after my car accident and I started running again. Also, I joined my girl Ebony from Longing 4 Length’s hair and weight challenge.
I used Garnier Fructis Curl Construct Mousse and this stuff gets super hard and crunching. However, I love the results and the way it smells. Don’t judge me!
Guess who used the camera on her cell phone for these pics? Sorry!
Luckily, I was able to determine the best method for taking care of my hair when I’m ill and a full wash day is impossible. It is important to me for the overall health of my hair to be consistent in proving my hair with some level of care.
I’m hoping to do an Ayurvedic treatment one day this week. Let me pray over that one.
What do you do to care for your hair when you are ill?
