I wanted to document my 2011 hair growth journey and progress. I did make a lot of progress last year despite a setback, courtesy of Nexxus ProMend product line. Please believe I will never try that product line again. It mends split ends, but it also glued my healthy hair together. I lost an inch due to these products and the breakage caused. The saddest part came when I had to trim more hair than was affected by the mishap to truly repair my ends. Lesson learned!!!
This year was full of changes and I re-evaluated my hair goals. Heck, I’ve even re-evaluated my goals in life. I realized at the end of the day, I have to do what’s best for me.

I started my 2011 hair growth journey as a natural; however, I started getting tired and frustrated from fighting with Cherrelle. It was just too much hair to work with while being natural. So, I texlaxed in July and immediately thought it was a mistake. However, I’ve made the best of it and grown to love the results.
I caught some heat from the Natural Hair Police but hey, it’s my hair. Life has been so much easier and wash days have gotten shorter. Especially, when I figured out the best way to handle wash days was to shampoo in braids to reduce breakage just as I did when Cherrelle was natural. So, I can’t complain.
I think 2012 will be a better year for Cherrelle and I. I am starting the year at Bra Strap Length (BSL). All in all, I’m encouraged. Waist Length here we come!!!
