It’s seriously time to get fit, lose weight, and stop playing! I am super serious about getting out of double-digit clothing. The other day, I was looking at my pictures from just a few years ago and I decided I really wanted my body back. I’m tired of playing the try-on game every time I need to go somewhere.
Around this time last year, I tried the Jenny Craig starter pack and I had great results. I shared the items that came in the package on the blog. In that post, I mentioned how my adopted father lost 80 pounds on Jenny Craig. He has been able to keep it off after all of these years. I realized that part of why he was successful was having a consultant that he checked in with each week. It seems Jenny Craig takes a holistic approach to lose weight. Honestly, I think having a consultant and one on one time is a great tool to promote accountability and to stay motivated. It’s more than them just saying “hey, buy our food, and here is a link to our online forum,” that you get with other programs.
Now don’t get me wrong, I do love the food. How often your food ships is based on which plan you chose and your freeze space. I have a small freezer, so I will receive food every two weeks. I had a few special requests and they were happy to assist. I asked if I could have more freezer items than shelf-stable. Also, I asked not to receive any bars or shakes. I’ve realized that I have an aversion to bars and my tummy prefers fresher items.
When I received my food, I was super excited and surprised by the food that was included. You can tell they took their time and worked with chefs to create their items. I was surprised to learn that they have over 100 items on their menu. I seriously went through the food pages trying to figure out what I want to try next.
Funny enough, I was most excited about a cupcake that I saw in the package. Don’t judge me but I was shocked to see a cupcake. Oh, I can’t wait! LOL
What I also noticed is that you receive two menus in your welcome package. One menu allows you to customize your plan and choose your own foods each day.
The other menu maps out the items you eat each day. I chose to use the week one and week two menus until I get the swing of things. Plus, things are super busy for me right now, and having the menu set made the process easier for me. It is one less thing that I have to stress about adding to my busy schedule. All I have to do is add in my veggies and milk items. Super easy!
What made me choose Jenny Craig?
After my one-week trial and my adopted father’s results, I decided that I wanted the full Jenny Craig experience. Over the next two months, I’m going to stay on the plan and continue to walk.
I’m not taking any supplements. I’m just going to Jenny Craig my way back to my body. I know the plan is set for members to lose 1 – 2 pounds a week to stay within the healthy weight loss range. I’m still more focused on clothing size over the number on the scale. I’m going to keep track of my inches in addition to my weight.
I hope that some of you join me on my Jenny Craig journey. It would be nice to have other partners to share progress updates with over the next two months. We set goals at the start of the year to lose weight, let’s actually stick to it and reach our goals this year!
