I’m sharing #Tampax in my life as part of a Tampax sponsored series for Socialstars™
Whoever said being a woman was easy definitely wasn’t telling the truth. Now don’t get me wrong, being a woman does have its perks. But, we won’t get into those right now.
There is one thing that I know you can understand and that’s having an unruly period. I don’t know about you but for the last few years, my period likes to play peek-a-boo. I never know when or if it is going to make an appearance. According to my doctors, mine disappears when I’m experiencing extreme stress. For others, the situation may be different but the feeling is the same nonetheless…frustration!
For some women, they have to carry a period bag because their cycle is so heavy that they can’t venture out of the house during that time without pre-planning.
I’m on the other end of the spectrum, but I do have to carry a few essentials with me. I, for one, refuse to let my period rule my life. I have things to do!
If you read my previous clutch purse post, you know that I normally don’t carry a full-sized purse. So I have to be very aware of how I pack my fave clutch for a day out.
I’ve used Tampax Pearl tampons since they first came out years ago. My one wish was that they had a compact tampon that I could carry in my wristlet without the fight of stuffing it in and having it look bulky. Recently, I discovered that Tampax granted my wish and created the Tampax Pocket Pearl.
When I first saw the product, it was like I heard angels singing. Seriously! I was super excited. Hey, little things make me very happy! LOL!
Now, I will admit when I first opened the Pocket Pearl I wondered how well it would work with the click and lock applicator. I quickly realized that using it was a piece of cake. The applicator snapped in place and proved to be just as strong and sturdy as the full-sized Tampax Pearl.
Let me tell you how I pack my tiny clutch to carry my essentials.
As you can see from above, the Pocket Pearl is seriously smaller than the regular Tampax Pearls and the packaging is super cute. I can actually fit two Pocket Pearls in my wristlet.
I also take a pantyliner with me just in case. It makes sense to me to be able to change liners just in case Aunt Flo makes an appearance. I recommend travel-sized pantyliners because they tend to be slimmer and are individually packaged.
Both the Pocket Pearl and my pantyliners come in discreet packaging, so I don’t have to worry about being embarrassed should either fall out of my purse.
I also carry ibuprofen with me at all times. If I carry a regular purse, I don’t worry about throwing the whole bottle of ibuprofen in and heading out; however, I had to get creative for those days when I have a wristlet or clutch. Enter the contact lens case…repurposing at its finest! I can fit about 5-6 pills in the case and it doesn’t take up much space. Winning!
Anywho, having the contact case with ibuprofen is super helpful for me because I can nip cramps or a headache in the bud quickly and go on about my day. Don’t judge me…I make sure to place my pills on the right side of the case because the color stands out and it’s easy for me to remember they are on that side.
Side note: You can also place foundation and concealer in a contact case when you are traveling if you don’t want to be bothered with the full-sized foundation or concealer container. I’m just throwing that out there! LOL!
It is amazing how many things you can fit in a wristlet with proper planning. With my current routine, I don’t have to worry about surviving my unruly period.
If you have a similar issue or you know someone who does, I hope you share this post. You can pick up Tampax Pocket Pearl at most major retailers. Let’s exercise our #PowerOverPeriods!

Period are awful things that happen to us girls. My periods are always messy and fluctuate a lot. I always get my periods on unexpected dates. So I just put all my periodly things in may bag. I am a pad user so I always wonder how to hid them. Would love if you do a post in this. Thanks

I unfortunately no longer use Tampons, though Tampax was my selected brands. I now have an IUD so haven’t had my period in a few months (love) but I’m still happy in this dept. with an old fave.

Lucky you! My cycle definitely doesn’t like me. If it wasn’t for the mood swings, I would gladly go back on Depro Lupron. It sends the body through a chemical menopause.

That’s such a cool idea for an extra contact lens case! Especially if you’re traveling and in a pinch!

Periods suck, but I agree, Tampax does makes things a bit easier with the smaller options. I love the idea of pills in a contact case too: Genius!
Tiki says
Thanks! It’s a super simple way to carry them around without putting them in a tissue. Lord knows how many times I threw the tissue out by accident. lol

I’m 5 months postpartum, and have yet to get my monthly visitor back…definitely not looking forward to it! lol
Tiki says
OMG! You are so lucky! Mine came right back even with breastfeeding. lol

I’m so happy to be done with this part of my life. The migraines alone were killers as were the cramps. It’s good you have a positive attitude.
Tiki says
I can’t wait. Yes, when you combine migraines and cramps, it is a recipe for disaster. I’ve had issues since I started my period way back when. I started having migraines in my early teens. Ugh!
Phyrra says
I hate my period. It’s always stressful, and lately I get headaches that turn into migraines around that time of the month. No fun!
Tiki says
I understand. I’m right there with you.

I always include chocolate as a must-have!
Tiki says
Yes!!! Chocolate is a must!

Tampax was my client for a number of years when I worked in advertising. I sat through many a meeting with the all-male marketing team on the client side way back then. I’m sure things have changed 😉
Tiki says
Now that is too funny for obvious reasons! LOL!
