How To Tweeze Eyebrows Without Pain

If you are like me, you dread having your eyebrows groomed because of the pain. Prior to learning a few tricks, I was known to walk around like a furry bear to avoid the pain of waxing or tweezing. It didn’t matter if I was getting them tweezed, waxed, or threaded, it hurts like hell to me. I wanted to share a few tips and tricks on how to tweeze eyebrows painlessly. My tips also work with waxing and threading. I’ve done a bit of everything to my poor brows. Sadly, this is a time where the cliché, “I feel your pain”, definitely rings true.

How To Tweeze Eyebrows Without Pain

Try these four tips to ease the pain and irritation associated with grooming your brows.

  • Apply a little dab of conditioner to the area to soften and loosen the hair just a bit. After applying the conditioner, allow it to sit for a minimum of five minutes. By doing this, the hair will soften and allow the hair to slide out of the follicle with ease.  A word of caution, don’t use too much or you will end up with a slippery mess. Trust me! 🙁
  • Tweeze your brows right after getting out of the shower. The heat and steam from the shower open up the pores to make removing the hair easier. Plus, this is another method of softening the hair for removal. Just know the skin may appear red but you should not have the pain that’s normally associated with tweezing and threading. I would not recommend this method prior to waxing.
  • Use toothache medicine to numb the area. What? Seriously! Use sparingly to avoid any of the products getting in your eyes. The best application for this method is to work with one eyebrow at a time. Ice is a great alternative to using Orajel or another tooth numbing gel but you will still receive the same numbing effect. The ice method is best used if you don’t trust yourself with the gel. Let’s just say that I’ve been known to forget and wipe my face. No Bueno!
  • Lastly, to eliminate redness after your chosen eyebrow shaping method, apply pure aloe vera gel to the area. Aloe vera is my best friend because it helps with irritation or redness. This is especially helpful after threading. (Trust me)

Just think of me as your personal guinea pig. I’ve tested all of the methods above to save you the pain. The best method on how to tweeze eyebrows is to combine all of the tips in the order mention: apply conditioner to your brows before getting into the shower, shortly after getting out apply ice and immediately remove the hair, and follow it with a thin coat of aloe vera gel. Easy peasy!

Do you have any tips for grooming your brows? What method do you use to shape your brows?

Is it better if I use face epilators?

I’ve never struggled with pain and I have some thick brows. I’m not a fan of wax, never been threaded, I tweeze. Great tips!

Thanks! Oh girl you are so lucky! I’ve waxed, threaded and tweeze and it all hurt until I started experimenting

@dedivahdeals I believe it! I have been known to use one when I can\’t get to the salon to get threaded or I just don\’t have time to tweeze.
