If you have followed me on Facebook or Instagram for the last two years, you know that I get up at 4:15 am three days a week and head out with the ladies in my running group. There have been plenty of times that I’ve gone out to run with the ladies without sleeping, in pain, in the cold…no excuses. The person I normally go with told me one time, “Your limbs would be falling off and you will still say that you feel fine and go running!” Yep, that sounds about right. LOL! If I don’t make it then my pain level is somewhere near a 10.
For a bit, I did stop going out because my doctor at the time to me to give up running because my joints could not handle the trauma. Screw that! I added running back in the mix. I can’t just walk! That’s not in me.
Anywho, lately, the ladies have been meeting up once a month at a local mountain to hike between 3-8 miles. I normally go on the three-mile hike through the mountains and take the asphalt road back down. I have to get my mind right for the eight-mile hike. I have no problem doing eight miles on a nearby trail because it is flat but hiking a mountain is a beast!
On our last trip, I hiked up the mountain and ran back down. I stopped once to fix my phone because the volume went out. I had too much crap in my backpack. Whatevs! Otherwise, it was an uninterrupted run down the mountain. The funny part was one of the ladies in the group that recently joined, didn’t know that I was a runner. She was used to seeing me walk alone and stay towards the back. I had to fill her in and let her know…Naw boo! I runz but I keep to myself because that is my time to think and reflect. Plus, I’m not friendly at 5 am! I won’t even lie to you and tell you that I’m a morning person.
I’m thoroughly enjoying the Saturday hikes with the ladies in my running group. I hope they decide to keep it up until the fall. Hiking the mountain makes my bootay happy! LOL!
I miss being a size 4 but no matter my size, I will still get out there and get my fitness on. You are never too thick to be fit. Shoot, even at a size 4 I still a thick’ems! I have hips for days and I loves it!

I should definitely try hiking. Looks like so much fun and we have plenty of natural trails in my area.
