Lately, this question has been a FAQ, so I wanted to share my choices. I have three conditioners that I normally use after using henna but none are “technically” deep conditioners. I mix them with Hemp Oil and raw honey. I use about a tablespoon of each and mix until well combined. After I apply the conditioner, I sit under my dryer or steamer with a plastic cap for 20 minutes but I leave everything on for at least two hours. However, I normally deep condition overnight.

I love this conditioner and I’ve used it for several years. It’s my go-to whenever I experience any type of protein overload. After I use henna, my hair can have that hard feeling like protein overload but that only happens when I’m not paying attention to how I mix my henna. The recipe I have now has been great at leaving my hair soft.
If you have any small particles left from the henna, this and my next choice are great at getting them out. This has great slip and it can work hair miracles. I used this to untangle my matted hair that one time that I decided to forgo detangling. I left it in for days and my hair and the mats melted right out.
I’ve used this for a number of years and I normally don’t mix it with anything. I just apply it straight out of the bottle and it works perfectly. This is another inexpensive brand that you can pick up at almost any major retailer.
