I previously said there were going to be some changes on the site and this is one of them, Manicure Mondays. I hope you all enjoy the post to come each Monday. To get this started off, I wanted to do a simple red and gold manicure. I used a polish that came in one of my recent beauty boxes, Nubar Red by Nubar. I was asked about the quality and decided to test it out to share my review.
Here are the deets on the manicure:
I used Force by L.A. Colors as the gold accent color on the tips. I picked it up at my local beauty supply store while I was out looking for hair color bottles. I believe I found it for $1.50 or so. I’ve never met a L.A. Colors product that I didn’t like. hehe
Nubar Red by Nubar is the base color. The Nubar Red is the color that I was interested in testing. I trimmed the tips with coordinating striping tape. Let’s just say that I am going to have to work on my tape skills. Smh!
Nubar Review:
As for the Nubar polish, I love it. You honestly only need one layer because it’s so pigmented. The scent on the polish is a little lighter than most polishes and it doesn’t linger. That works for me because smelling polish all day is not on my to-do list. Because I received this in a subscription box, I only received the miniature size polish. With that said, I was surprised by the applicator for the polish. It doesn’t streak and the application is extremely smooth and the coats are even. The brush is very easy to work with despite the size of the bottle, so I can only imagine what the full-size applicator is like. The best feature of this polish, aside from the low scent, is that it is 3 free polish and I don’t have to worry about my cancer risk while polishing my nails. LOL! No seriously! You should avoid polishes that still contain formaldehyde, DBP, and toluene like the plague. If you have allergies or just don’t like the smell of polish, this is a great brand for you. I know I will pick up more Nubar polishes.
I hope you enjoyed my first Manicure Monday. See ya next Monday!
What manicure will you be rocking this week?
[…] the color is Neon Green. The thing I don’t like about the inexpensive brands is they are not 4 free. I had one polish that ate through the styrofoam plate I was using for nail art. No […]
