During the warmer months, I love wearing pink and coral tone makeup. I think they are the perfect shades to give me the glow that I love. Not too long ago, the Mirabella Lighten Up collection was launched with gorgeous summer colors and new technology. Let me tell you as soon as I saw the highlighter, I had to have it in my collection. It was seriously calling my name!
According to Amber Bowen, Mirabella Creative Director, the new line was created to give “flattering warmth and glowing skin, colors that enhance your features and make them a topic of conversation.” Needless to say, I’m here for it because this line is perfect…I couldn’t wait to dive in and test out the new items.
If you checked out my “Pinks Have It” post, you saw the first glimpse of me testing one of the three new Visionary Eyeshadows ($29) in Charmed.
After posting the look, I received a ton of compliments and questions. Heck, my next-door neighbor loved the shadow so much she asked me if I could put a little in a container for her. LOL!
In my latest YouTube videos, I decided to give Imagine a try. It’s described as a beige shimmer shade…all I know is it’s perfect for my everyday makeup look.
The last color in the collection is Vivid. I haven’t created a look with Vivid just yet but stay tuned.
Mirabella shadows have a mousse consistency and go on like a cream-to-powder product. The thing I love about Mirabella shadows is once they set, they are set. The Visionary shadows are described as long wear and they live up to that description. If you have oily lids, like me, these will work perfectly for you…as they were created to absorb oils on the lids and last all day. You really don’t have to use a primer with their shadows. I use a base because my lids are darker and my veins like to wave and speak to people. So I apply a little of my NYX base or L.A. Girl concealer to mute out my lids and I’m good to go.
Now can we discuss the Glowing Coral Brilliant ($40) highlighter? OMG! It’s sooo pretty! My very first highlighter was the Mirabella Swirling Pearl Brilliant. I’ve had it for years and I’m still in love with it to this day-which is why I was so excited to try the Glowing Coral Brilliant.
After I tested it a few times, I decided to just use the highlighter without any blush. Glowing Coral Brilliant is a mineral-based highlighter that blurs skin imperfections to give you a natural soft glow. And I was definitely glowing! LOL!
In this collection, Mirabella released its Colour Vinyl lipstick formula. It’s a gel formula that creates glossy lipstick. The Colour Vinyl Lipstick ($26) in Balmy Nectar is such a pretty color. Unfortunately, it didn’t have the pigmentation and finish that I was expecting. If it just gave me a touch more color payoff, Balmy Nectar would’ve been my new bae.
The idea of a glossy lipstick intrigued me and I was looking forward to experiencing the 10-hour wear. I will say the lipstick was very moisturizing. I didn’t have any issues with drying, so using raspberry extract, Argan Oil, and lychee extract in a lip product was an awesome idea.
Overall, I love the new Mirabella Lighten Up collection. The things that I’ve come to realize are the best products by Mirabella are their eyeshadows and highlighters. Well, their brow pencils are the bomb… Anywho, you can find the new collection on the Mirabella Beauty site.
