Can we talk? So I haven’t posted a face of the day because my eyelids and I were not getting along. It seems like I suddenly have extra folds of skin on my lids which made applying eyeshadow a pain. Honestly, I was a little bummed because I looove playing in eyeshadow. Well, I made up my mind to get off my pity pot, work with what I have, and make the best of the lids that God gave me. LOL!
In short, be prepared to see more of my mug and eye looks. I hate to admit it but I’ve had my Urban Decay Naked palettes forever and haven’t used any of them until recently. Yes, that was plural on palette. I have the original Naked palette, Naked 2 and Naked 3. *hangs head in shame* I still haven’t touched the Naked 3 palette, but I have been using the original and Naked 2 more than anything else lately. I won’t dare tell you the other palettes that I have and haven’t used either. Eek!
Confession: I hoard makeup! I’m an addict with no intentions of rehab. Tis all! LOL!
Anywho, this FOTD came from me testing the new Mirabella Visionary shadows. I have a review coming for the new colors…give me a few. Somehow, I ended up with pink eyes and lips but then I realized that it’s so me. LOL! Take a look around and you will notice that I have a thing for pink and purple. 🙂 I didn’t apply foundation for this look, so don’t think I forgot to mention foundation in the list below. I’m also going to skip over my skincare products and take you straight to the actual makeup products that I used in this look.
Face:
I used the Becca Radiant Skin Creamy Concealer in Brulee. I bought this from Groupon…never again. It’s super thick, doesn’t apply how it should, and it fell apart, so I will stick to buying makeup from my normal places. I set the concealer with the Laura Mercier Translucent Loose Setting Powder mixed with Ben Nye Banana Powder. I prefer the look of both powders together because they offset each other. Ben Nye tends to be too yellow, while Laura Mercier tends to look a tad too bright. To bronzer and contour, I used the Anastasia Beverly Hills Light to Medium Contour Kit. From the palette, I used Havana as a bronzer and Fawn to contour. To add a nice finish to my face, I applied my MAC Mineralize Skinfinish in Medium Dark. I wanted a light wash of color on my cheeks and I didn’t feel like digging out my Too Faced Blush Wardrobe, so I went with the Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blush in Vibrant. It’s such a pretty color and super pigmented.
Eyes:
I used the eyelid color from my Wet n Wild I Love Matte palette as my transition shade. I can’t find a similar skin tone color from a prestige brand. If you know of one, please leave the name in the comments. In my crease, I applied Tease from the Urban Decay Naked 2 palette. On my lids, I used the Mirabella Visionary Eyeshadow in Charmed. When using Mirabella shadows, you don’t have to use a primer. Once they are set, they are SET! I now know for the pink shades I do want to use a base to hide the discoloration of my lids but I think the shadow did an okay job without it in this look. I just want a little more pop. For liner, I used my NYC liquid liner. Lawd! I struggle with a winged eyeliner with all of this extraness on my lids. LOL! Last but not least, I applied two coats of the Maybelline The Falsies Mascara.
Lips:
As a base to keep my lips from drying out, I applied a thin layer of Jack Black Grapefruit and Ginger Lip Balm. I followed that with two coats of Milani Amore Matte Lip Creme in Lust. OMG! I sooo love this color. My two favorite Milani colors include Lust and Amore. Love them!
There you have it! It’s my latest FOTD. What are some of your favorite products?
