Well, I am off and running. My 2015 weight loss journey is on and popping. (Yes, I did really just say that…uh-huh) Last week, I started the Nutrisystem Fast 5 program to kick-start my weight loss and I think I did great given a minor glitch in my system. Let’s just say, I hate being a woman. I blew up so much that you could’ve used me in Macy’s Thanksgiving parade.
Anywho, I pre-planned my entire week down to the number of calories. I’m sure the counselor that is assigned to me thought I was crazy. She didn’t get the “I have OCD and I am not ashamed” memo. LOL, I like to plan things out so I am not just grabbing things or standing in the refrigerator door waiting for something to jump out at me. This week proved my point about…I felt like hell and I didn’t plan ahead. I am about to lose my mind, but we will chat about that next week.
Funny story: I was talking to a friend and he asked me what was I eating. I said a muffin and he says, “I thought you were on a diet.” Yeah, I am and the muffin is part of the diet. I am sure for a second he thought I lost my mind. All I have to say is, “The blueberry and chocolate muffins are the bomb!”
The number of meals I have to eat per day is a tad problematic for me. I am the queen of one meal per day, so telling me I have to eat five times per day will get you a major side-eye. Heck, it almost made me faint. Eating this much is stressful! LOL, I noticed after a few days of eating more often that I started getting hungry more during the day. Before I started Nutrisystem, I rarely got hungry because my metabolism was slow. My body got used to me eating once per day and now it’s in shock. I’m sure my body was like, “What the hell is she doing to me? This chick is tripping!”
Check out what I ate this week!

Results:
At the end of the week, I was down 4.4 pounds. The Nutrisystem Fast 5 program is designed for you to lose five pounds and/or one inch off your waist. I honestly believe had my least favorite aunt come to visit I would’ve lost more than five pounds. My stomach definitely shrunk and I lost about a half-inch of my thighs. #Winning
My Thoughts:
I will say the most calories I had in a day during the Fast 5 phase was 1000 calories. I still can’t believe that I ate so much food and so often, and the food was low in calories. I exercised during the Fast 5 period and I did not feel sick or light-headed. If you are used to eating more calories, please speak to your doctor before starting the Fast 5 program. Overall, this part of the process was easy breezy.
Taste:
I liked most of the items with the muffins being my favorites, and I did have to spice up the dinner selections to my liking. I am going grocery shopping this weekend so that I can get more creative with my food…I see crab mac & cheese in the near future.
The lunch items, in the round containers, have a processed food flavor that caught me off guard. I’ve been eating whole foods for so long that I can taste the difference. If you are a fan of boxed mashed potatoes and rice dishes, this will work for you and you won’t notice a difference.
The one item that I did not care for was the Energi-zing shakes. I could taste the artificial sweetener and I believe I could taste the caffeine power in the shakes. The Craving Crusher shakes were much better and did not have the same after taste as the Energi-zing shakes.
I heard Nutrisytem is testing a fresh whole food box in California. I’m looking forward to that one going nationwide.
So far so good! See ya next Friday to see how this week went for my first regular week on Nutrisystem.
Dang, I just realized I forgot to take a starting picture. Well, I don’t think it’s too late. I will do that this afternoon.

Awesome review! I’ve been a weight watchers girl throughout my weight loss journey, but your nutria system review is making me possibly open to something else in the future if and when I need it! I’m looking forward to your weekly posts about this!

Hey Tiki! Do you know if you can buy just the FAST FIVE from Nutrisystem? I tried the deal from QVC in January. I loved the FAST FIVE food with the shakes, but didn’t like most of the food for the rest of the month.

I didn’t know you could buy it from QVC. I need to check that out.

You are off to such a great start! I had forgotten how good the pizzas were. While on Nutrisystem, I started eating yogurt, something I never even tried before. Now I panic when I have less than a week’s worth in the fridge. I was also eating a lot more baby spinach. I didn’t do much of the bars because I like real food I can spread out on a plate and eat.
To anyone interested in the price, I suggest going to the website and going through the steps of actually putting the different packages in your cart and seeing the savings if you go for the three months auto delivery.

Thank you! I’m doing the best I can and trying to keep up with eating. I love the Carb Master yogurt from Kroger. OMG! It’s so yummy! I went to the store last Sunday and bought 10 but I think I need more. Plus, those yogurts freezer well. So I can always throw them in the freezer for later…emergency stash.
I’m having fun dressing up my pizzas. I think I might pick up some turkey pepperoni and add those to my next pizza.

I knew I missed something. I meant to talk about the lunch items. I added the info above. The price varies depending on the program you choose.
