I recently made some changes to my subscription bags and boxes. After hearing about Rainbow Honey, I decided to give it a try. The idea of it being a mix of polish and beauty products for only $10 with $3.95 shipping appealed to me. I do wish the shipping was free but I still wanted to check it out.
Side note: I am starting to realize I’m becoming a bit of a polishholic. I just placed an order from Sally’s with mostly polishes. Yes, this is crazy. LOL! Anywho, I wanted to share the Rainbow Honey September bag with you.
I will say I am pleased with my first bag. The shipping was super-fast: I purchased my Mini Mystery Bag on the 1st and it shipped on the 3rd. Rainbow Honey has to have the fastest turnaround of any subscription services I have ever had in the past.
The heart soap caught my eye as soon as I opened the bag and it was the first item I pulled out because it was so cute. Turns out the heart is the Rainbow Honey standard soap shape. Cute! I love the fragrance! It is very light. The funny part was that I kept sniffing the bar and ended up with a fingerprint on the top of the soap. LOL! It smells yummy! Don’t judge me!
The soap was part of a three-piece Pomme Rouge bath and body set. According to the insert, the scent is a mixture of red apples and berries. I was trying my hardest to figure out the other notes in the fragrance with the berries. After seeing the insert, I totally got it. I guess I should’ve read that first, huh? Oops!
Anywho, the first thing I noticed about the body lotion was the label. I’m sorry, but I don’t like that someone applied the label, ripped it, and left it on the container instead of trashing it and getting a fresh label. I will be the first to admit I am funny about things like that and it is still bugging me just a touch. I think it’s my OCD kicking in and taking over. Anywho, the body lotion has the same light scent as the soap. This let me know the fragrance was design to have a light fruity scent.
The last item is a body balm but you know I am going to use it as a lip balm. I can’t help but use it like that given it is in a lip balm container. Hello! I like that it doesn’t have any artificial coloring. I thought it was going to be the same color as the soap, but they went with a traditional uncolored balm. Love it!
The polishes are adorable! I tested one color as soon as the package came in to see if it really could be worn alone or if I really need to use it as a topcoat. The formula is thick and pigmented enough that I built the color to wear it alone. I thought it was awesome that each color has a different shape glitter.
Sugarberries – Round shaped glitter in a red base
Salacia – Triangle-shaped glitter in a marine green base. The polish is part of a collection that Rainbow Honey is releasing in the future.
Asteroid B – Star-shaped glitter in a blue base. I think the glitter shape was perfect for the color. It just makes sense!
Overall, I am very happy with my first bag and I will keep this one until the end of the year. At the end of the year, I will decide if I will continue to subscribe or not. I will say, this is not a normal auto-renew subscription. You actually have to go to the Rainbow Honey site on the 1st to purchase that month’s bag. I wanted to pick up the August bag, but it sold out. I had to wait to order the bag for September. My only regret is not buying the full-sized bag and going with the mini. The full-sized bag is $25 and I didn’t order it just in case I didn’t like what I received. Umm… the wrong idea! Oh well, I am ok with the mini.

I just finished sniffing that soap again. LOL I went to move it off my desk and couldn’t resist. I say try it.
I’m really trying my best to not bite at every thing smoking but good grief it’s hard. My mind tells me I need it knowing good and well I don’t. My stash is insane with randomness.
