#NOTD: Salacia by Rainbow Honey

Let’s pour a little polish out for our broken homie. Yes, I had a bad break this weekend. I’m not sure exactly what happened but I was cleaning when I noticed one of my nails split. I did not think anything of it until I took my polish off and noticed just how bad it split. It split to the middle of my nail but I was lucky enough that it did hurt. I tell ya, I turn into a baby over a broken nail that hurts. It’s not pretty.

Rainbow Honey September 2014 Salacia Glitter Polish

I tried to save it but nothing worked. Honestly, I was too lazy to patch it with a tea bag or dryer sheet. Hey, that is a tutorial. I will share how I save a nail with you all but I hope this does not happen again anytime soon. Now, I normally cut all my nails down and just nub it until they ALL grow out. However, I decided to just rock one nub. *shrugs * No particular reason…just didn’t feel like cutting all of my nails off.

Anywho, I wanted to show you one of the polishes I received in my Rainbow Honey bag. I am normally not a fan of green. Okay, I despise green but for some reason, this polish was calling me. Don’t judge me. I am a complex individual. Anywho, you can see what I meant in the post showing you my September Rainbow Honey Mini Bag about how the glitters are buildable and you do not need a color-based coat. This is just the glitter and my normal Probelle hardener. I am wearing Salacia by Rainbow Honey.salacia by rainbow honey I didn’t think about it until after the fact that I should’ve done swatches for the other two colors. I will try to get those done and posted next Monday.

First thing, I feel you with the nail split. You never know what happened, so you can’t prevent it next time. And second, how can you not like green nail polish? Currently, I’m wearing an Ulta color from a couple of years ago called Envy. It’s an emerald color that only needed one coat it’s so dark. A 38 YO co-worker admired it today said she hasn’t been bold enough to wear that color since college.

My first car was green, courtesy of my grandfather, and I have hated the color every since. I have a batch of green polishes that have come in with different boxes and I refuse to wear them. This is a judgment-free zone. LOL

Chips annoy me so once I see them, I usually just remove the polish altogether

I love that shade of green. So very sparkly and glittery, too. Hope your broken nail is okay and know how breaking a nail too low can be quite painful.
