Don’t you just hate it when your favorite eyeshadow has an untimely accident? I’ve had a few shadows and face products that have ended up in pieces for one reason or another. For some, I have repaired them but for others, I decided to do something a little different with them, turn those broken eyeshadows into nail polish. I hate throwing things away, so this just made sense to me and it’s a great way to repurpose a shadow. Turning a shadow into a polish is also a great option for a shadow that you find that is difficult to work with or lacks the pigment that you like.
What made me give this a try?
I had a couple of eyeshadows that were mailed to me and were damaged during shipping. Turning my broken shadow into a nail polish was super simple and easy. It only took a few minutes to complete the process. I stopped by my local beauty supply store and I picked up a clear bottle of polish ($.99). With the tools needed that I already had in my stash, I set out to turn eyeshadow into nail polish.
Tutorial: Broken Eyeshadow into Nail Polish
I did create a quick eye look using the shadow before I used it in the video. Actually, all of the colors used in this look are by NK shadow. If you are looking for an expensive eyeshadow, these are great for the money. Again, they are only $1.49. You can beat that and it’s great for any budget…especially mine! I’m all about beauty on a budget!
ETA: I would like to say thank God my makeup skills have improved since this post was originally posted.

What do you do with your broken eyeshadows?

Wow I don’t wear nail polish enough to do that, but I know if you take your eye shadow and mash it up and mix it with Vaseline you have lip gloss. . .

I haven’t tried that or the crayon lip gloss trick. I said I was going to do a post with the crayon.
