Wash Day: Tried and True Hair Products

I love when the link-up is hosted by Just Grow Already and Saving Our Strands has a theme. Don’t ask me why! I think it makes it easier for the Libra in me to focus. I don’t know. * Kanye shrug* Anywho, the theme for this week is tried and true hair products. I have a few products that I have used for years and no matter how many other products I try, they will ALWAYS be in the rotation.

Wash Day Tried and True. Products used for this wash day.

Hmm…maybe I should post a review and explain my love for Aubrey Organic Honeysuckle Rose and Giovanni Direct Leave-in. I will try to get it up but don’t hold me to it. I am the queen of the best intentions without follow-through. *sigh* I’m trying to get better. Enough about my bad habits…I will say it again, chalk it up to me being a Libra.

Pre-poo – I mixed EVOO and Vatika oil. I used this to detangle before moving on. I went old school with my pre-poo for this week and pulled out Queen Helene Cholesterol Conditioner. I don’t know why but I had a brand new jar in my stash and it was calling me. Back in the day, this was my first love.

Shampoo – For the first time in over a year, I saw flakes. I was not having it and I decided to try Garnier Fructis Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. Someone left it at my house. So…I said, “What the hell I’ll give it a try!” Left items are fair game.

Condition – I deep conditioned (with steam) using a mixture of Aubrey Organic Honeysuckle Rose, Hemp Oil, EVOO, and raw honey. This mixture never fails me.

Leave-ins – Aphogee Keratin and Green Tea, Giovanni Direct Leave-In, and Agadir Argan Oil Treatment

Wash Day Tried and True Deep Conditioning In Plaits
I washed my hair in plaits because my new growth at 16 weeks post is ridiculous. At this point, I would have tangles for days if I did not plait my hair and I don’t feel like fighting with Cherrelle. Pray for me because this week I am flat ironing and trimming. I don’t even have to explain. * sigh *

Anywho, I just finished using Viviscal and I am curious to see how much growth I received using it. I know my nails got stronger, but we shall see what my hair looks like in the next few days. Plus, I owe someone a review of the Split-Ender and I just got a new one. I’m ready to give it a spin and see if I love it as much as my old one. I was a little ashamed to do the review with my old one: I beat the pure hell out of that thing, but it still works. LOL! I digress.

I hope you had a great wash day. What are your tried and true hair products?

I washed my hair in plaits too, can you say life saver! I was so relieved I didn’t have to do an extensive detangling session. Queen Helene has been a keeper since I was a kid

Ooo your hair! Are those red highlights? Pretty! I know what you mean about the plaits. I wash in twists myself and it helps me get to my new growth

The red is henna and hibiscus. I will have that post up on Friday with the deets on how I did it. The plaits are a lifesaver
