Big Chop | Starting My Natural Hair Journey

After transitioning for three years, enough was enough! I decided to big chop and kick off my natural hair journey. Little did I know trying to post my big chop would be a process, but we are here.

Prior to starting the cutting phase, I did shampoo my hair with the JESSICURL Hair Cleansing Cream. Actually, JESSICURL was kind enough to send over a kit to help me with my big chop process. Unfortunately, my crazy behind used the wrong conditioner to big chop, but we got it done. LOL

Big Chop Hair Products

I’ve used their products since the Deep Treatment was the Daily Conditioner and it came in huge containers. Yep, way back when. In the package, they sent me products recommended for thick curly hair and it included the following items:

  • Hair Cleansing Cream
  • Too Shea!
  • Deep Conditioning Treatment
  • Awe Inspiralling Spray
  • Rockin’ Ringlets
  • Confident Curls
  • Spiralicious

Unfortunately, I didn’t receive either of their oils, and I would love to try them out. I just checked their site and both of the oils are offered in their free sample section, so I’m definitely going to try them.

Yes, you read that right! JESSICURL offers free samples. All you have to do is pay for shipping. And before anyone asks, this post is NOT sponsored. I really love their products.

Anywho, the video is funny; because I had a creepy neighbor standing out on the street watching me. Funny enough, my former landlord didn’t know it happened until he watched the video. He told me the guy must’ve seen something he liked. Wait! What? LOL!

My plan is to start posting natural hair content to both the blog and YouTube. My sincere hope for 2021 is that anxiety does not get the best of me and paralyzes my goals and desires.

If you haven’t subscribed to the blog or my YouTube channel, make sure that you do. Don’t forget to turn on your notifications so that you will know when I post.

Have you started your natural hair journey?

Hi Drea, Thanks! Honestly, I’m still wondering if I’m going to stay natural. I didn’t realize I had this much hair. LOL! Any good books that I should check out?
