Wash Day | At A Crossroads With My Hair

I am at a crossroads with my hair and I have not decided on my next step. I am currently 24 weeks post texlax and I was supposed to texlax this week. However, I am having a serious Libra (indecisive) moment. Last night I was really about to pull out my shears and cut all of my texlaxed hair off. Luckily, I spoke to another hair diva and she gave me her input. Okay, she talked me off the ledge.

I have three choices on what to do and only one sounds appealing at the moment. First, I can go ahead and texlax, but I am really not in the mood to go through the process. Plus, my hair has been behaving lately. I haven’t had any issues with detangling lately, even after a braidout.

Next, I can big chop. I forgot to mention that my “friend” is totally against the idea. He almost had a cow when I said something about it, but at the end of the day, that is really my decision to be made based on how I feel. IJS. The other issue with cutting is the post-cut regret. When I big chop, I big chop to tapered sides and an inch or two on top.

Lastly, I can always color my hair. This is the most appealing to me at the moment. I love my red hair and my hair isn’t as bright as I normally have my color. Plus, I need to cover these little gray things straight chilling in my head. I am telling you my gray hairs are super friendly, and they wave and speak to people. Did I mention they like to sneak from under my wigs? I can’t have that happening.

Anywho, let’s get to this week’s wash day. I went with a co-wash because I washed my hair twice last week. I just washed on Friday and I did not feel the need for a full wash day yesterday.

Crossroads Wash Day Products 24 Weeks Post

Pre-Poo- I skipped it this week.

Co-wash – Using V05 Tea Therapy Nourishing Conditioner with chamomile tea. I detangled after I co-washed and my hair slide through the comb with no issues.

Condition – Applied Suave Almond and Shea Butter conditioner while in the shower. No deep conditioning yesterday

Leave-ins – Motions Nourish Leave-In Conditioner, Giovanni Direct Leave-In, Pura D’or Argan Oil

Styling – I think I am going with wash – n –go for the week. Just for last night, I pulled my hair up in a bun and secured it with a hair stick. I didn’t use an elastic band.

That is about it for my wash day. I really need to get my mind right and figure out my next step.

I myself am at a crossroads. Not sure if I have learnt my hair yet but it doesn’t really give trouble except for frizzing which I think is something it has always done. I am texlaxed wih relaxed ends but it mind buggling how my hair doesn’t seem to have a natural curl pattern to it. I usually relaxer stretch for one year, however I’m tempted to “relax” but would rather push through the year. Unlike a lot of people nowadays, I know going natural is not for me.
… I’m confused atm as I want to try new products, learn my hair in terms of its prosity and what’s best but I dont know how to start.

I know the libra struggle too well. I’ve been on the fence about bangs for about two years now. I just can’t make up my mind. Good Luck to you on your decision!

Since I’m on a no cut you can’t go cutting either…unless it’s like a trim or 1-3 inches. LOL

I’m trying to resist the urge to cut. I might have to “trim” to waist length. LOL

As I mentioned to you privately, your hair looks amazing no matter which route you take. I stand behind you 1-hun’ded (100%) percent.

I love hair sticks and forks. I have quite a few of them. You can find them at your local BSS and on eBay. Yes, the Libra struggle is real. LOL

I could only wish they would disappear. Yes, the stick keeps my hair up. MOF, I slept in it last night and all of my hair is still up.

Big chopping is not a decision you can make in a hurry. You have to be sure. Listen to your gut feeling hun!

I’ve big chopped a few times before and felt good about chopping. My gut says cut my hair. LOL However, I am trying to fight the urge.
