4 Home Remedies for Pimples

We all hate those pesky pimples that seem to come from nowhere. I do not have acne-prone skin but once in a while, a pimple will decide to appear. There are normally two instances when I am graced with their magical appearance, hormonal issues (wink), and after using beauty products that are not suitable for sensitive skin. I am sharing four of my favorite home remedies for pimples.

What prompted this post was a recent appearance that left me looking like Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer’s little cousin. Trust me…it was not pretty and it was totally my fault. I accidentally applied moisturizer to my nose and that is the only oily area of my face. My nose will not tolerate moisturizers of any kind.

Let’s get into my favorite home remedies for pimples

1. Tea Tree Oil

My favorite natural treatment for pimples is tea tree oil. Tea tree oil acts like an antiseptic and it helps kill the bacteria that cause pimples. Simple apply tree tea oil to the affected area using a q-tip.

2. Toothpaste

The baking soda, peroxide, and other ingredients in toothpaste help dry out pimples. Apply a small amount of toothpaste to the affected area before going to bed.

I used this remedy to rid myself of my little friends on my nose. Unfortunately, I was not able to find my tea tree oil and grabbed a tube of toothpaste to dry my pimples out. I woke up the next morning and definitely saw a difference. Plus, the pain was gone.

3. Baking Soda

Baking soda is another home remedy I use to keep my face clear and to exfoliate my skin. You can use this to help unclog pores and reduce inflammation. Simply mix baking soda with water to form a paste, apply to the affected area using a q-tip, and rinse off after the paste dries.

4. Oatmeal

Oatmeal is really a cure for everything; acne, rashes, dry skin…you name it! I find it easier to work with slightly cooked oatmeal. You can mix it into a paste that is easy to apply and use alone or add a little honey. The oatmeal will gently exfoliate the skin and dry out the pimple.

There you have it, my fave four home remedies for acne. I hope this helps you the next time you are visited by an unwelcome pimple.

I would like to add one more remedy Aloe vera, I have seen instant results with Aloe gel, it works very well and suits majority of people.

Man, this post brings back the memory of when my mom used to put toothpaste on my breakouts when I was younger and my face would be all tingly lol. These are great remedies.

Thanks for the advice. Collodial silver works wonders for me! I also take olive leaf extract which is like a natural antibiotic. Works wonders!
