MANICure Monday: Polka Dots & Stripes

Happy Monday! I had no idea what I was going to do this week for my manicure. I only knew I intended to use black and nude polishes. I kinda winged it this week and the result was polka dots & stripes nail art.

I will admit nail art isn’t my specialty but I try. I can work miracles with a mani and pedi but I am still working on my nail art skills. LOL! I used to envy the other girls I went to nail school with but hey, you have to work with your skills and talents.

I changed the pattern a bit after I finished my nails. I had stripes on my pinky nail but changed my mind. I was having a Libra moment. LOL!

The base color is Black Lace Creme by NYC. The bottle says long-wearing but I was skeptical. Let me tell you, this polish surprised the heck out of me. It survived not only a wash day but for me texlaxing, shampooing, and the entire process. I had a couple of small chips but nothing major and not at all what I expected to see. I thought for sure the relaxer would’ve taken off most of the color. I am now a fan!

I used Julep’s Sally to create the polka dots & stripes and I love the contrast in color. I will have to try this color alone because this was my first time using this polish. I know…I know I have a few polishes that have been hanging around with no use and most are Julep polishes.

Anywho, I will have to try this design again to perfect the look but for the first time, I am happy with the results.

Until next week, stay beautiful!

Love that you use that Julep shade of yellow instead of white and your manicure definitely came out amazing. Love it!! Happy Monday 🙂
