It is time for MANICure Monday featuring OPI Romeo and Juliet. It’s my Romeo & Juliet will never die mani! If you have been reading my blog for a while, you know how much I love OPI polish. I have said so many times that I started using OPI and Creative polishes back in the ’90s when I was in nail school. Well today, I decided to prove how far back my love of OPI goes.
You may wonder why I picked the name for this week’s manicure. Well, it is simple! I am wearing OPI Romeo and Juliet polish for this week’s MANICure Monday. This used to be my color! I mean I wore this all year-long, even the summer. I wore this one almost as much as I wore Cotton Candy from back in high school. LOL!
I have had this polish so long I cannot date it. No, seriously! This is the oldest OPI polish I own and it came out back in the late ’90s, maybe early 2000s. Yes, I’ve had it that long. The other part of the name came from the fact that I had to revive it to use it. It dried and settled in the bottle. I had to run hot water over it for the top to open. Then I had to add a little nail polish remover to thin and try to bring it back. I do not have much left in the bottle. If I had not told you, I think it would be obvious this was one of my favorite polishes at one time.
I am sitting here telling myself that after all the work I went through just for this week’s manicure, it might be time to throw it away. Ugh! I just don’t want to… *Whining* Sorry! I had a moment. My inner product junkie and hoarder just will not allow me to throw this polish away. I am sure you have a polish that is your absolute fav. I can’t be the only one!
Be sure to subscribe to see my next MANICure Monday and my other nail post!
What do you think of the OPI Romeo and Juliet polish? Your cup of tea or Nah? Do you have a favorite polish that you can’t let go of? How long have you had your oldest polish?
My oldest polish is less than 2 years old. I rarely wear it anymore except on my toes 🙂
Nothing wrong with have pretty painted tootsies! LOL
You are not the only one! I have some nail polish I bought more than 15 years ago. I don’t even think the company is still in business. LOL! Now I feel awful! I need to go and purge! LOL! Thanks alot! 🙂
LOL! Didn’t mean to make you feel bad but it’s good to know I’m not the only one. ha
On those rare times I go and get my nails done I always seem to pick a bluish almost turquoise color.. I’m addicted to that color.. just wish I had longer nails.
Turquoise is such a pretty color. You can still rock polish on short nails!!!
I always loved and could wear OPI’s Vamp over and over and did totally back in the day. Still one of my favorites and haven’t found any polish lately to come close to that one.
There is nothing like an old fav. I haven’t found a color that will match this one either. I might post one color that is the closest I’ve found next week for MM. Ha…there we have it!
