Time is flying so fast that I almost forgot to share my October Ipsy Bag 2014. I have to admit I was dragging my feet a bit and for good reason. However, I didn’t mean to wait this long to show you what I received this month. I can’t say that I am thrilled about what I received in my October bag.
Honestly, I am starting to notice that the best Ipsy bags come out during the summer. The bags that come out this time of year leave me feeling blah. Last month, I was thoroughly disappointed and I decided to retake the quiz on the site. I make sure I don’t select lotions or butters on the quiz and guess what keeps showing up.
After I saw what I was receiving in my Ipsy Glam Room, I decided to take the quiz again. If next month doesn’t get better I am cancelling for good and not giving the service a second thought.
Anywho, let me stop fussing and show you what I received for my October Ipsy Bag.
A rich body butter designed to smooth dry, rough skin. The body butter is made with jasmine, rosemary, lavender, bergamot, ylang-ylang, oakmoss, patchouli, and fir. Just reading the ingredients deterred me from trying this body butter. All of the scents listed are very strong and not what I would put together for a pleasant scent. Retail: $28 6.75oz 25% Off: AYRESIPY
I received this lipstick in the color Cappuccino. I have other lipsticks by City Color and I do like them. So, I can’t complain about this one. It works with the tones that I have been wearing lately and I think it will look gorgeous under Cocoa Bean by Gerard Cosmetics. Retail: $5 20% Off: IPSY20ML
Sidenote: I’m going to use the code to pick up their contour palette…must have in my collection.
The exfoliant uses mild cleansers to remove excess dirt and dead skin cells from the skin while activating collagen production. This was designed for use on the entire body. I love a good multi-tasking product. According to the description, the product is also hydrating. We shall see. I have a rough patch on my cheek. I’m trying to figure out if it is an eczema flare or a reaction to another exfoliant. Retail: $32 3.3oz50% Off: IPSY5014
KISS iENVYbyKISS Lashes
100% human Remy hair. The description states the glue included in the package is unique because it stays until you remove it and it doesn’t leave any residue. Unfortunately, I could not find the ingredients for the glue and I have to assume it contains latex. I have a latex allergy, so I will not be able to use the glue. Retail: $3
ModelCo VOLUMEYES Extreme Black Mascara
I haven’t opened this because I don’t want it to go bad before I can get around to it. I keep mascara longer than three months but I have a ton of mascaras to try before I can get to this one. Retail: $20 15% Off: MC15
What did you receive in your October Ipsy Bag 2014?
Dre Davis says
I’m with you on this, Tiki. I was hoping that the bags would get better over time. The summer bags were pretty cool, though. I know that I’m getting that J Cat lippie in this month’s bag so I’m kinda looking forward to that. And I’m curious about Birchbox now so….
When you do open that mascara, please tell me what you think of it. I am always on the hunt for the best mascara.

I totally forgot to go look at my dashboard to see what I’m getting this month. I haven’t received my shipping notice yet.
I’ll make sure to post a review after I open it.

Ipsy or Birchbox – which is better & why so?
Tiki says
I will say Birchbox. Lately, Birchbox has been sending emails letting you pick an item to go in your box and I you can accumulate points faster. I will email you a pic tomorrow of what I grabbed for my bday using my birchbox points. Hold on, here is the link: https://www.birchbox.com/shop/smashbox-cosmetics-try-it-kit

I like the pick in advance option of Birchbox. I love the points feature. I always buy perfume when I cash my points in.

I love the KISS lashes, they make good ones.
Grow It Girl says
They sent me the paparazzi lashes. I can’t wait to try them. I have other KISS lashes but they are more natural and less glam.
Brooke @ Blushing Noir says
I love the lip color! I like your bag better than mine this month.
Grow It Girl says
I was most excited about the lipstick. It’s a perfect color for me.
MyBeautyJunction says
I like the lipstick shade you got. But yes, the bags have been quite meh of late.
Grow It Girl says
I’m really trying not to be a grinch about it. LOL
