Sometimes life gets a little crazy and it’s important to pamper yourself. I spend so much time caring for and helping others that I just need a little time for myself. I believe self-care is important to everyone and without it, we are unable to fully care for others in our lives. So, I’m sure that I am not the only person who needs a time out for some pampering. If you are on a budget like me, it’s important to find ways to pamper yourself at home. You know, in between the screaming kids.
Once that stress level goes through the roof, we absolutely HAVE to find a way to counter it and regain our tiny bit of sanity. LOL!
Here are five ways to pamper yourself at home.
- Take a 20-minute break with your beverage of choice For me, it’s an adult glass of grapes ;)Take the time even if you have to lock yourself in the bathroom!
- Soak your feet I have my favorite foot spa that I purchased from Walmart many years ago. However, if you don’t have the budget to buy on, the 99 Cents store or Wal-mart and buy a dishpan. Fill it up with warm water, add a few drops of lavender oil and Epsom salt or your favorite foot soak potion. Don’t have time to soak your feet? No problem! During your shower time, insert the drain stopper, sprinkle in your foot soak and your feet will get pampered while you shower! No excuses people. No excuses.
- Take a bath instead of a shower Be sure the water is not too hot to prevent dry skin and add your favorite bath crystals and/or essential oils (try lavender or peppermint) to the water. If you are like me, I like to soak with a glass of wine beside me. It’s perfect!
- Don’t skip the facial mask and exfoliation Take time out from your normal face cleansing routine and add in a mask or exfoliate. Give will give you a few minutes to relax and focus on something other than work or the kids. Plus, your skin will thank you.
- Light a candle A lit candle has the ability to transform the ambiance in a room from energized to relaxed. Don’t think the only time you can light a candle is when you’re soaking in the bathtub. Try lighting a candle when you’re doing everyday things at home like working on the computer or reading. I love lighting candles throughout the day and I tend to favor scented candles that reflect my mood.
Pampering yourself doesn’t have to be difficult or expensive. Most of the time, it’s the well-spent 20 minutes that will turn our day around for the better or prepare our minds and bodies for peaceful sleep.
I hope you enjoyed the five ways to pamper yourself. Do you have any tips on pampering yourself at home?

I agree. Sometimes we get so focused on caring for others that we don't take a few mins to care for ourselves. Enjoy your soak:)

I think it's so important for people to stop, breathe in deep, and take a moment for themselves! I know I'm definitely going to do at least one of the five tonight!

Thanks Mylah for the ideas. I will be soaking this evening in epsom salt.
