It’s that time of the week, MANICure Monday with Pure Ice No Means No polish. I hope last week treated you well. Things are always super busy for me but never too busy for me to polish my nails. Don’t judge me! I have to take a little time to myself to relax and sneak in a smidgen of pampering.
Anywho, I had another polish in mind for today; however, I saw today’s polish and decided to change things up. I was on the polish aisle, at my local Wal-mart, checking out the OPI and Essie polishes and the Pure Ice polish started screaming buy me.
Now if you have followed my blog for a while, you know my fave color is purple. I just can’t resist a pretty purple anything. I know…it’s sad but true! So I just couldn’t say no to this polish when I saw the display. The light hit it just right and I saw a little shimmer. I thought for sure the polish one would be a winner.
The polish is Pure Ice No Means No and I paid less than $4 for the bottle. I loved the color in the bottle but… Get ready for it because here it comes. Y’all I was so disappointed in this polish. You know the old cliché, “You get what you pay for.” That is normally not the case but for this one, yes. The color is beautiful. I will give it that; however, it took three coats to get the right coverage. I will spare you the mess I had to make sure my entire nail was polished because the brush was too small. Sigh!
The polish is too sheer for my liking; however, once you get the number of coats just right, the color is gorgeous. I just wish it was a little thicker. I am wondering if all the Pure Ice polishes are this thin or if I just picked up a bad bottle. Hmmm…I wonder.
This was my first Pure Ice polish. Have you purchased any polishes from this brand? What polish are you wearing this week?
ETA: I recently received a new Pure Ice polish in an Influenster box and it seems the brand has changed its formula.

I have a ton of Pure Ice and quietly I like the brand. Some of the colors cover better than others but for the price I can’t complain.

Oh ok, I think this is my last one.

LOVE that purple polish!!! I agree with you on the Pure Ice polish, I have a couple and they are just too thin. I have to apply several coats to get it just right. Love it on you though!!!

Thank you! I’m so glad to here is not just me. It seems the reviews are mixed, but I like a creamier polish

I’m not a nail polish person but I love Pure Ice’s packaging the bottles make me want to buy them. I used to love getting my nails done (I wore Nasty Girl by Pure Ice for years) but I have not in years enjoyed it.

I gave up on buying anything but brands like OPI. A “lesser polish” doesn’t hold up to the activity. 🙂

I am totally seeing that right now. I better stick to what I know

My daughter (almost 17) huge nail polish fan…especially Pure Ice. It seems to be a good polish at a reasonable price. I love OPI! Thanks for sharing and have a great week.
Tiki says
Thanks! That makes me wonder if it was just my bottle b/c I had to put on several coats.

I was given a bottle of polish from my daughter for my birthday from this brand. It was a bottle of purple glitter, so of course I love it!!
I like the color you choice for today. I might pick it up as well now. I tend to choose a lot of purple polishes, they are my fav!
Have a blessed week 🙂
