Wash Day | 41 Weeks Post Texlax

How in the world did I end up being 41 weeks post texlax? Shoot, I’m bordering 42 weeks and it just hit me that in 10 more weeks I will be at one year post. This wasn’t in the plan and I’m not sure exactly how this happened to Cherrelle. I’m surprised she is still acting like she halfway has some sense. I think that might be it…Cherrelle (my hair) isn’t having any issues being this far into a stretch. The only question…when am I going to texlax? To which I say, “Heck if I know!”

Voloom Hair Volumizing Hair Iron Before

I’ve been wearing my hair straight so I don’t wash my hair quite as much. Hence, the reason why you haven’t seen a wash day post in a bit. Plus, I was in a bit of a funk after I had that allergic reaction to the Macadamia spray.

This week I needed to wash my hair and flat iron it because I wanted to review the Voloom Hair Volumizing iron. I was curious to see if that would give me the volume I wanted when my hair is flat ironed. I love how straight my hair gets when I flat iron it because I hate the new frizz my hair has going on. So I wanted to see if I could defrizz and add volume.

My wash day was pretty simple because I used one product line. I skipped the prepoo this week because I wanted to see how well the products worked. My scalp itched just a touch and I almost went with a different shampoo. I decided to stay the course because the Pura D’or shampoo states it treats dry scalps. I will come back with a review once I’ve used the set a bit more. I’ve used their Argan oil for a while now and I love it.

Here is a super quick wash day. I can’t believe I completed everything in one day.

Pura D'r Argan Oil Set

Shampoo: I applied a generous amount of Pura D’or Shampoo to my scalp and worked it down to my ends.

Deep Conditioned: I applied the Pura D’or Argan Oil Conditioner and covered my hair with a plastic cap. Then I sat under my bonnet dry for 30 minutes.

Detangled: I didn’t use a different conditioner this week only the Pura D’or products. It didn’t have the slip that I like but it did the trick without any drama or trauma to my hair.

Agadir Hair Shield and Giovanni Direct

Leave-in: I used my usual suspect…Giovanni Direct Leave-in. I sealed my hair with the Pura D’or Argan oil and let my hair air dry for a bit.

Blow Dry: I used the Agadir Argan Oil Heat protector to blow dry and applied it again before I flat ironed.

How was your wash day this week? Did you try any new products?

Hi Tiki, I had no idea you were suffering from an allergic reaction. I hope you are getting better. I love the hair though. You look gorgeous. And your hair looks so healthy after almost 42 weeks.

Your results are so sleek and pretty. Are you stretching indefinitely?

Thank you! When you say indefinitely, it makes me think of transitioning. However, I am from the standpoint of not having a specific time that I plan to texlax and that I am playing it by ear.

Your hair looks super. I’m really impressed with the results you got with that flat iron.

I must remember to try the Giovanni Direct leave in again. It wasn’t moisturising enough for me, but now I’ve amped up the moisture in my hair it might work differently. Still have some left.

I’m still looking for something that works on my itchy scalp so I’m looking forward to your review of the Pura D’or shampoo.

GD is one of my holy grail products that I’ve used since 2009ish. It works great if you have a good foundation. I can’t wait to see how the Pura D’or works long-term. So far so good

No, I moisturize, flat wrap, and tie my hair up with a satin scarf. Nothing spectacular. LOL

Your hair is so sleek, I could never get those results that deep into a stretch. Is the Pura D’or Argan oil pure?
I tried Creme of Nature Moisturizing Milk Masque for the first time this week, I wasn’t impressed.

Thank you! The key to sleek results is small pieces, a ton of patience, and maybe a little wine. LOL According to the label, yes. It’s cold pressed and unrefined pure argan oil. I use this one head to toe, literally! This and the Josie Maran argan oil.
