Why did I sit down to write this post about Valentine’s Day featuring LUSH bubble bar and bath bomb and Johnny Gill’s “My, My, My” just started playing in my head? Yes, it’s like someone turned on Pandora and the first verse started playing. Oh, hold on…did I just tell my age? Oh well! I am not ashamed.
Anywho, Single’s Awareness Day Valentine’s Day is approaching and despite marrying my ex-husband on Valentine’s Day, I still love the romantic idea of celebrating the day. Maybe, I might be I’m just an odd duck but I still expect whoever I’m dating to take me out and buy me a gift. I fell in love with Valentine’s Day back in elementary when we gave out cards and notes. Now I don’t do flowers but I do Edible Arrangements. Send me fruit shaped like a flower and I am good to go!
I digress! I wanted to chat with you about how I prepare for my night out. I have the same regimen/routine every year. Sad…so sad. LOL!
I like to start my Valentine’s night out prep with a nice bubble bath. This is where Lush comes in and starts the process off right. LUSH Cosmetics makes fun and whimsical bubble bars that are perfect for a nice relaxing soak. The bars and bombs’ appearance appeal to my goofy side because they are fun and cute, but the fragrance is everything.
I received the LUSH Cosmetics’ Unicorn Horn Bubble Bar and the Floating Flower Bath Bomb. OMG! Let me tell you they smell awesome and I could smell them through the box. When I took them out and placed them on my counter, they literally filled my living room with a beautiful fragrance. I didn’t bother to light my candle until I finally used them in my bath.
My “friend” came over and started sniffing the bag. Talk about a sight to behold: It was hilarious. Can you imagine a six-foot-two man sniffing the heck out of a bag and telling me how I’m going to have a nice bath with my bars? LOL! I really had the confused puppy look because he stopped mid-sentence to smell my goodies. Umm…that didn’t read right but I’m going to leave it right there. I thought one of my bars was about to grow legs and mysteriously walk away.
My favorite scent between the two was the Floating Flower Bath Bomb. I am a serious Jasmine freak. I drink Jasmine tea on a regular and I have a perfume that I just love. So LUSH had me at the first hint of that beautiful aroma because I fell in love. Honestly, I didn’t want to use them and I just wanted to keep both for my accidental air fresheners. LOL
Sorry…By now, I’m sure you are wondering what else goes in my V-Day regimen. After a nice relaxing bath and a little moisturizing, I start getting my face glammed up. You know there is some red involved. Call me corny but I absolutely wear red on Valentine’s.
This look from my Natural Eyes and Ombre Lip is one of my faves looks for Valentine’s Day. Otherwise, I go with a bold red and black eye with a nude lip.
Now here comes the reason behind Johnny Gill playing in my head…”Slip-on your red dress and some high heels…” Yes, I’m pulling out my sexiest red dress (that flatters my extraness) and a pair of stilettos. I finish with gorgeous accessories and a nice fragrance…I’m ready for a night out with my boo.
OK, now sing with me…”My, My, My…You sure look good tonight!”

I loved the LUSH Valentine’s goodies this year! the Unicorn Horn is my favorite. I know what you mean about the air freshener. The Floating Flower is strong! Love the red ombre lips, SO much!!

It took me a bit to realize where the smell was coming from until I finally sniffed the box. Can you imagine the look on my face while I was sniffing the unopened shipping box? lol
I’ll be celebrating “Singles Awareness Day” with you! LOL But I LOVE Lush!!! Their products smell AMAZING and it’s impossible to walk into the store and not buy anything. I so need to try these new bath bomb and bubble bar.

When I was single, myself along with a group of my single friends went out and had dinner. One of the guys bought all of the women a rose. It was fin. We ate, got drunk, talked ish. So yeah, Vday doesn’t have to be lame.
