Wash Day: Bantu Knots Retry

December 10, 2014 By Tiki 4 Comments

I am back on track with my wash days. Last week, I simply washed my hair as normal and put it into two plaits. So I didn’t feel the need to post about my uneventful wash day. Fast forward to this week’s wash day, I decided to give bantu knots another try. I put them up last week but didn’t take them down until today.

I realized I was dead on with my last failed attempt, and I used way too much product. I also made the knots smaller, and I think things turned out great. I see a tutorial in my future. LOL

My wash day was super simple, but let’s get into the process.

Pre-poo: I applied Joico Moisture Recovery and covered my hair with a plastic cap for a few hours.

Shampoo: Agadir Daily Moisturizing Shampoo (Sulfate Free). I normally shampoo my scalp only and let the shampoo rinse off cleanse my ends; however, this time I needed to remove some product and applied shampoo scalp to tip.

Conditioner: I didn’t deep condition this week. I conditioned while in the shower using Icon Repair Solutions Effective Care Treatment.

Detangle: While rinsing out the conditioner, I detangled my hair from ends to roots.

Leave Ins: Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Mist, Giovanni Direct Leave In, Hairveda Whipped Crème Ends Hydration, sealed with Almond Oil. I added a little dab of Afroveda’s Hemp Seed Lock, Twist, and Roll for a little extra shine.

I completely air dried my hair before setting my hair with bantu knots. Friday, I will give you all of the details on my bantu knots. I didn’t want to make today’s post super long.

Your bantu knots look so good. When you finally do take them down those curls are going to be the bomb! You’ve got to post pics! 🙂

Your hair looks so neat! I’d simply rock those and not take them down.

Can’t wait to read more about the Bantu Knots, I cannot sleep in those things. Would you happen to have a review for the HairVeda Whipped Creme Ends?

I have to loosen them just a tad and ball up my pillow. LOL No, I don’t have one yet. I want to see how it behave in cold weather b/c it has glycerin in the ingredients.
