Where has the time gone? I can’t believe it’s been so long since I’ve post a hair update and length check. The last time I posted an official hair length check was in April ’14. The following month is when I tried to trim my hair and cut the mess out of it. I went from Hip Length hair to a choppy Waist Length hair.
May Length Check
Luckily, I was able to recover some length and thickness by the time I took my October length check pictures. I’m not sure why I didn’t post my pictures in October. I took them before I started the No Heat Challenge with Jay and Jen and I also took them to gauge my starting point for taking Hairfinity…review coming soon. Hmm…not sure what was on my mind.
October Length Check
My regimen has changed just a bit because I don’t use as many products as I did before. I need to post an updated regimen. The growth you see from Oct – Jan was with me having a wash day once a week, minimal co-washing, less protective styling as normal, and only taking Hairfinity. Yes, I slacked off that bad for a bit. I recently got back on the ball. Once I settle into a solid updated regimen, I will be sure to share it with you.
January Length Check
Here are some of my favorite wash day posts from October to January:
Shortly after taking my January length check pictures, I did cut my hair back to waist length. You may ask why my length check is Oct – Jan. I normally post a New Year’s Eve length check and this was the first year that I didn’t get it up on time.
Plus, I don’t have any pictures of my hair at this moment and I’m honestly too lazy to flat iron today. However, I will give you an update from January to April in the next few weeks. Don’t judge me. I’m trying to do better.
Overall Thoughts:
Despite my allergic reaction in December, I was still able to see growth and it didn’t cause major damage to my overall hair health. The damage it did was at the root and causing my hair to shed. Luckily, I didn’t receive any breakage. I was able to gain back the hair that I cut off in May. I do have some gaps that are still there that most people might not notice. That was part of the reason why I cut my hair back to waist length.
In the end, I gained approximately 1.5 to 2″ in the three-month period. For normal growth, that was good but I would’ve hoped for more. Most people grow 1/4″ to .5″ per month and mine was average or slightly above. I’ll take it!
I was able to move back from Waist Length/Mid Back Length in May to Hip Length in January. Someone asked me to measure my hair back in January from my last texlax and I believe I gained about 5″ so I can’t complain. Ha…I just remembered that I trimmed during that time. I knew something was off.
Did I mention I’m still chasing blunt ends? I need some type of blunt end rehab because my longing for blunt ends was the reason I butchered my hair in May. I have issues.
