I am not sure how three weeks managed to get away from me, but somehow it happened. If my scalp could talk, I am sure it would call me a few names and say a few choice words about the fact that I have not washed my hair is three weeks. What? Don’t judge me. It did not stink up the joint…I promise. Geesh!
No seriously, I kept saying I wanted to henna my hair and I even mixed a batch. I think I got lazy and I was enjoying the ease of straight hair. I am sure had I been running or working out like I should have been doing, I would not have been able to get away with three weeks of not shampooing.
So, this last wash day was very much needed but somewhat unplanned. I normally wash on Saturdays; however, I hopped in the shower and decided to go ahead and get it done. No pre-poo this week because of the last-minute washing. You know I am all about having a plan for washing texlaxed hair. It needs a little more TLC than natural hair but sometimes I forget that I am no longer natural. Sigh. Anywho, I was winging it this week. If you noticed, most of the products are items you can find in stores and are reasonably priced.
Shampoo – I used the last bit of my diluted VO5 mix (VO5 Moisture Milks Strawberries & Cream Shampoo, water, tea tree oil, and peppermint oil). Let me tell you this felt so good on my scalp. I need to mix another batch.
Detangle – VO5 Strawberry Moisture Milks Conditioner while in the shower.
Conditioner – I had an unused bottle of Ion Repair Solutions Effective Care Treatment in my stash and decided to give it a try tonight on a whim. I have to use it a few more times before I can give you an opinion. This was one of the items one of my hair friends sent me a while back.
Leave-ins – Giovanni Direct, Aphogee Pro-vitamin, and I sealed with my Happy Hempy from Hairitage Hydration. I’ve had this one for a bit and the label is there, but the words are worn off. Of course, it has my boo Hemp Oil in it. You know I swear by it.
I just mixed another batch of henna and I will be using it tomorrow. These uncolored hairs in my head are driving me crazy. I can’t do it!
Did I mention I am 11.5 weeks post? I decided to push my next texlax back and do a bit of low manipulation and protective styling. OK…OK, the truth is that I want to try a few wash n gos just to see how they will look. I have not tried it in months and the last time I did, it was gorgeous! Why not? It’s summertime! Washing texlaxed hair after week 12 does get a bit tricky but I can handle it with proper planning. No more winging it for me.
I think that is about all I have to catch you divas up on as far as my hurr. LOL!
How was your last wash day? Did you try any new products?

I think I went about 3 weeks of not washing Morgan’s hair. That was straight laziness on my part! LOL I need to just invest in taking her somewhere once a month for a good wash, condition and two french braids and roll out! And I know how tricky a WNG can be with that much hair. Lawd I have to twist/braid Mo’s hair then unravel if I want to let her wear it down. If not, it becomes a damn hornet’s nest right in the back.

Yes ma’am! Take her to the salon and call it a day. You know hair is not your thing. I saw your coily locks today. I can’t wait to see tomorrow’s selfie

I have very thick hair and can usually get a little under a week before having to wash if I am straightening it. I am jealous that you got two weeks out of yours and seriously not lazy here either, but would love to forget about my hair for 2 weeks, too!
