It is amazing how a piece of glass in your foot will make the world stop. Luckily, my wash day happened before my little accident or my scalp would be on fire right now. I will admit I just took the rods off the ends of my hair yesterday. I washed my hair but didn’t complete the styling before my little accident. Ugh!
The short version of what happened…I was cooking and knocked a brand new bottle of Kikkoman on the floor. I swept the glass into one spot but got side-tracked before I swept it into the dustpan. I stepped backward and stepped into the pile of glass. The funny part about the incident was the fact I was more upset about breaking a new bottle of soy sauce than I was about having glass in my foot. My priorities were a little off but I’m cheap! That was a waste of money.
Anywho, I wanted to publish my heat-free style prior to today but posting anything with my foot killing me wasn’t going to happen. So, this is a wash day and heat-free style chat together. I hope you don’t mind.
I left my hair in the braids I wore under my wigs to complete the process. My latest wash day was very simple and with combining steps the process went extremely fast. My goal was to cleanse my hair and scalp while conditioning.
Cleansed and Condition – Shea Moisture Black Soap Purification Masque. I applied the product, covered my hair, and let it on for 30 mins.
Leave-ins – I applied Design Essentials Natural Almond & Avocado Leave-in and sealed with Myra Aso’s Coconut Oil. I totally skipped my liquid this week. I applied Happy Hempy to my scalp and moved to styling. I mainly used the Design Essentials Natural line this week. I’ve had the products for a while but decided to give them a try.
Styling – My heat-free hairstyle for this was day was a braidout. It was the perfect idea with my hair already being in braids. Yeah, it was a little lazy but you don’t have to kill yourself to have great hair. IJS
I used Design Essentials Curl Enhancing Mousse to my roots and added Honey Curlforming Custard only to my ends. I applied ends papers to each braid and set my ends with gray and white perm rods. I like for my ends to have a little curl.
Before I took the braids down, I applied more Myra Aso’s Coconut Oil and the Afroveda Hemp Seed Lock, Twist, & Roll Butter.
How was your wash day?

I’m up in a pineapple with a bonnet. I might have to email you a pic so that you can get a good laugh. It’s ghetto. The endpapers are needed for me to better grip and not split my ends. I don’t trust my bare ends on the grooves of the rods. Just me… 🙂

Your hair looks nice and full. I love the volume and the braidout pattern. How bad was the cut(s)?

Thanks. No image how big it would be if I was natural. LOL The one on my toe wasn’t too bad. The one on the bottom of my foot was the problem b/c I couldn’t put weight on it.

Your hair turned out cute. Definitely looks like you spent more time on it. How’s your foot doing? Did you have to get a tetanus shot?
Tiki says
Thanks! I fluffed the mess out of it. LOL! It’s doing better and I can get around better. No, I’m allergic to the shot. I had a reaction years ago and found out the hard way.
